Long before the concept of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) became a legal mandate, ACG recognised the importance of proactive community engagement. Before setting up any manufacturing plant, we took deliberate steps to address the social, environmental, and livelihood challenges faced by local communities. Community development became, and remains, a core philosophy for ACG.

Approach

Our approach to community development has always been comprehensive and holistic. We have worked hand-in-hand with local communities to support infrastructure development, promote sustainable farming practices, conserve natural resources, and provide educational opportunities for the local youth. These initiatives were not driven by obligation, but by a genuine desire to create positive change and foster sustainable development in the areas where we operate.

As I look back on over sixty years of ACG, I feel immensely proud of our collective contribution to corporate social responsibility. ACG has been conscious of its societal accountability for many, many decades. You could say we were ahead of the curve, long before the Government declared it a legal responsibility. Let me give you a couple of examples which were groundbreaking for their time.
